Al - Kinetic Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation

The Kinetic Way

Meet Al Fryer

Al has been influenced by his love for sports, a dedication to continuous learning, and a genuine commitment to assisting others through physiotherapy.

From a young age, Al found joy in playing rugby, surfing, and swimming, fostering a love for physical movement and activity.

Having completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Sydney, Al furthered his education at the same institution, earning both a Master of Exercise and Sport Science and a Master of Physiotherapy by 2013.

For the past decade, Al has called Bathurst home. His approach to patient care extends beyond mere pain relief; he prioritises promoting overall well-being and restoring optimal movement, recognising the individuality of each patient’s needs.

Motivated by a genuine desire to aid his patients, Al pursued advanced education, attaining a Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) from the University of South Australia in 2019. This additional qualification has broadened his capacity to address various musculoskeletal conditions, empowering his patients to regain mobility and embrace life fully, with a specific focus on treating shoulder conditions, temporomandibular disorders, and hip issues.

In addition to his clinical practice, Al has provided mentoring to students at CSU students in both Physiotherapy and Exercise and Sport Science. He has worked with rugby teams such as the Bathurst Bulldogs, Central West Blue Bulls, and NSW Country Cockatoos.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Al enjoys rugby, fishing, camping, and spending quality time outdoors with his wife and two young sons.

Meet Amelia Wright

Since moving to Bathurst in 2018, Amelia has become an active member of the community. Being a passionate sports person, Amelia loves to play AFL and netball while she’s not spending time with friends, training at the gym, or reading her favourite book.

Having completed an exercise science and nutrition degree in 2016, Amelia has accumulated over 7 years of experience as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Wanting to expand on her knowledge further, she transitioned into a career in physiotherapy with the hopes of helping empower her patients to exercise in a way that is meaningful to each individual while striving towards pain-free living.

Having had her own experiences with sports-related injuries, Amelia has first-hand experience rebuilding confidence through movement and returning to competition post-injury. Through her own recovery process, Amelia learned the importance of having a well-structured rehabilitation plan and as such, is passionate about providing tailored, sport-specific rehabilitation for her patients.

Amelia’s diverse background and genuine passion for patient care make her an invaluable addition to our healthcare community while her commitment to continuous learning and her ability to combine exercise science, nutrition, and personal training set her apart.

Meet Su Roebuck

Su is a highly experienced physiotherapist with over 30 years in the field. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) from Sydney University and has worked across a wide range of healthcare settings, including neonatal intensive care, pre and post-natal women’s health, hospital care, and private practice. Over the last two decades, acute and subacute orthopaedic surgical care has been a significant component of her practice.

A proud mother of four and coffee connoisseur, Su has called Bathurst home for more than 25 years. She is deeply involved in her community, with a long history of volunteer work in basketball, soccer, and with the Bathurst and District Sport and Recreation Council. This involvement has kept her connected with both her children and the wider community.

Currently, Su is enthusiastic about providing community-based services, focusing on promoting functional independence and improving the quality of life for older adults. She creates individualised treatment plans, educates families and carers, and is a passionate advocate for the rights and needs of older individuals, particularly those who have experienced setbacks or injuries.

As Su embarks on a new chapter in her career, she is excited to balance her community physiotherapy practice with spending more time with her family and grandchildren. Her dedication to helping others achieve better health and independence remains the driving force behind her work.
